Tips to Avoid Puppy Biting

Puppy Teething
Puppy Teething

Puppy biting is normal but not a habit you want to continue! You can minimize puppy biting by meeting their needs. Start managing teething with things like different types of chew toys ๐Ÿฆด , exercise ๐Ÿƒ and mental enrichment activities! Here are some tips:

  • Use a toy – substitute a chew-bone or toy to keep the puppy occupied
  • Teach bite inhibition – start by allowing biting of your hand, and when it becomes painful, yelp and make a big deal. When they are gentle, reward them with a treat
  • Get a puppy playmate – find them some young buddies to burn of en energy with, like a puppy training class.yowling when urinating, or avoiding urination completely

If your puppy is biting or aggressive in response to touching them somewhere, maybe they are in pain or distress โ€“ call us on 0999 885 1219 / 035 528 5015 or message us on Facebook.

We have some sad news to share today - We will have to close Waggin Tails vet clinic for the foreseeable future. As many of you know, we are trying to find ways to support DAS financially so we set up a private vet clinic to try and raise funds.
